Blue Water Shipping Girls U15 Championship Records First Football Competition Played in Kabakaburi Region 2

May 23, 2026, Georgetown, Guyana – History was created in Kabakaburi, Region Two (Pomeroon-Supenaam), on Friday, May 22, 2026, as the community hosted its first-ever organised football competition during the ongoing Blue Water Shipping Girls U15 National Championship.

The landmark occasion saw Kabakaburi Secondary face Charity Secondary in a preliminary round encounter, marking a significant milestone for football development within the indigenous community.

Charity Secondary secured a 2–0 victory, with goals coming from Razeena Wilson and an own goal by Kabakaburi Secondary. Despite the result, the match represented a proud and memorable moment for girls in football and the Kabakaburi community, which turned out in support of its young players as they competed on home soil for the first time in an organised football tournament.

Now in its third year, the Blue Water Shipping Girls U15 National Championship continues to play a vital role in the growth of girls’ football across Guyana, providing young studentathletes with opportunities to compete in a safe, inclusive, and structured environment.

The 2026 edition of the tournament is expected to feature more than 70 schools from across Guyana, including teams from Moruca, Essequibo Coast, West Demerara, Georgetown, East Coast Demerara, East Bank Demerara, West Berbice, East Berbice, Bartica, Mahdia, Rupununi, and Linden, reflecting the Guyana Football Federation’s continued commitment to nationwide grassroots football development.

In the following weeks matches are scheduled to be played Regions 3, 5, 7 and Georgetown.
