Guyana Football Federation Welcomes First Cohort of Interns Through Partnership with University of Guyana

The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) is pleased to welcome its newest cohort of interns under the partnership established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the University of Guyana.

The agreement is designed to strengthen the connection between academia and sport by fostering practical learning opportunities in sports administration. Through this collaboration, students at the University of Guyana are afforded structured internship placements within the GFF, enabling them to apply academic knowledge in a professional sporting environment while contributing to the continued development of the local football ecosystem.

This group represents the first cohort of interns to be placed at the Federation under the one-year MOU between the two institutions. The interns, comprising both young women and men, will be integrated across several of the Federation’s administrative and technical departments. During their placement, they will gain hands-on experience in key operational areas including sport management, digital media, data analysis, competition operations, and other critical components of modern football administration.

The initiative provides students with valuable exposure to professional sport governance while equipping them with practical skills relevant to their respective fields of study.

This partnership reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to youth development, professional training, and the creation of meaningful pathways for the next generation of leaders in sport and administration.
