The Junior Golden Jaguars brought their tournament campaign to a memorable close with a dominant 8-0 victory over St. Kitts and Nevis on October 30. The result was a fitting conclusion to the team's participation, reflecting the players' attacking quality, determination and ability to respond positively to the challenges of international competition.

Across their 10 matches, Guyana recorded four victories and two draws, with the draw against Guam ultimately decided by a penalty shootout. The team's participation provided its players with sustained exposure to international competition and the opportunity to measure themselves against a diverse range of opponents.

The Guyana Football Federation extends its sincere congratulations to the entire U-15 squad for their disciplined conduct, sportsmanship and exemplary representation of their country throughout the tournament. The Junior Golden Jaguars carried the Golden Arrowhead with pride and distinction, serving as worthy ambassadors for Guyana both on and off the field. Their commitment, conduct and determination have brought credit to themselves, their families and the nation. All of Guyana has reason to be proud of these young men.

Participation in the inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival provided the young players with invaluable international exposure, allowing them to experience different playing styles, tactical approaches and footballing cultures. The event also offered an important learning opportunity for the national coaching staff, who were able to observe and assess the standards, methods and approaches employed by teams from more established footballing nations.

GFF President Wayne Forde described the experience as another encouraging indication of the progress being made by Guyana's national youth teams and reaffirmed the Federation's commitment to its long-term development strategy.

“Our national youth teams are improving steadily and delivering increasingly credible performances on the international stage. This was a particularly valuable experience for our U-15 boys, who had the opportunity to test themselves against different playing styles and in a very different football environment. Equally important, our coaching staff were able to experience first-hand the exceptional standards of the game among some of the leading football nations.

“We are under no illusion about the amount of work that remains, but we are confident that the right programmes and sustained investment will deliver significant benefits in the months and years ahead. Initiatives such as our Youth Ensemble Programme, Schools Football, Coaching Education and continued infrastructure development are central to building a stronger and more sustainable football system.

“The evidence is encouraging, and I believe we are heading in the right direction. I want to commend our Technical Director, Mr. Bryan Joseph, and his entire technical team for their tremendous work in preparing and developing our young players.

“Beyond the football, I am particularly proud of the way these young men conducted themselves throughout the tournament. They represented Guyana with discipline, respect and pride, and carried the Golden Arrowhead with distinction. They should return home knowing that they have made their country proud. On behalf of the GFF, I congratulate every member of the squad and the technical team on this historic experience.

“These experiences are important milestones, but our responsibility is to ensure that they form part of a continuous development pathway that gives more young footballers the opportunity to improve, compete internationally and fulfil their potential.”

The GFF remains committed to expanding opportunities for young footballers, strengthening the national youth development structure and ensuring that international exposure is supported by consistent investment in coaching, grassroots participation, competitive opportunities and football infrastructure.

The experience gained in Baku represents another important step in that process and reinforces the Federation's determination to build a stronger foundation for the future of Guyana’s football ecosystem.
