Fédération Internationale de Football Association

The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) has been a proud member of FIFA since 1968, joining the world's governing body for association football and becoming part of the global football family. FIFA is responsible for establishing and maintaining the Laws of the Game, organizing international competitions such as the FIFA World CupTM, and promoting the development of football across all continents.

As a FIFA Member Association, the GFF is committed to upholding the organization's statutes, regulations, and principles of good governance, integrity, transparency, and fair play. FIFA membership provides Guyana with the opportunity to participate in international competitions while benefiting from development initiatives that support infrastructure, coach education, referee development, youth football, women's football, safeguarding, and capacity building.

Through programs such as the FIFA Forward Programme, the GFF continues to strengthen football across Guyana by investing in facilities, technical development, grassroots initiatives, and national team programs. These investments help create sustainable opportunities for players, coaches, referees, administrators, and football communities throughout the country.

Confederation of North, Central America and Caribbean Association Football

The Guyana Football Federation has been affiliated with CONCACAF since 1961, becoming part of the regional confederation responsible for governing football throughout North America, Central America, and the Caribbean.

CONCACAF plays a vital role in organizing regional competitions for national teams, clubs, youth teams, women's football, futsal, and beach soccer. Through this affiliation, Guyana competes in prestigious tournaments including the CONCACAF Nations League, Gold Cup qualification, youth championships, women's competitions, and FIFA World Cup qualifying campaigns.

Beyond competition, CONCACAF provides extensive support in football development through coaching education, referee training, governance programs, safeguarding initiatives, professional league development, and grassroots projects. Working alongside CONCACAF enables the GFF to strengthen every level of the game while ensuring that football in Guyana continues to grow in line with regional and international best practices.

The Caribbean Football Union (CFU) serves as the regional football body representing the Caribbean within the CONCACAF confederation. The GFF works closely with the CFU to promote the sustainable growth and development of football across the Caribbean region.

The CFU provides an important platform for cooperation between Caribbean Member Associations by organizing regional competitions, development programs, technical workshops, referee education, coaching courses, and administrative training. These initiatives contribute significantly to raising football standardsthroughout the Caribbean while creating valuable opportunities for players, coaches, officials, and administrators.

For Guyana, membership within the CFU strengthens regional collaboration, encourages knowledge sharing, and creates additional competitive opportunities that support player development and national team progression. Together with FIFA and CONCACAF, the CFU plays a key role in helping the Guyana Football Federation achieve its mission of growing football at every level and creating pathways for future generations of Guyanese footballers to compete on the regional and international stage.
