CAMEX RESTAURANTS ON BOARD WITH THE GFF-EXXONMOBIL INTERNATIONAL FUTSAL FESTIVAL

Camex Restaurants, Inc., under the Church’s Chicken brand, has signaled their interest to support the GFF-ExxonMobil International Futsal Festival when the agency’s Marketing Consultant presented a sponsorship cheque to aid the festival.

The presentation was made today at the agency’s Church and Middle Streets outlet by Deslyn Griffith to GFF’s President Wayne Forde and Kashif and Shanghai representative Aubrey “Shanghai” Major respectively.

Griffith expressed pleasure at her agency’s commitment to the success of the festival while acknowledging that they have been active in the community and exploring sporting and other opportunities for growth. She noted their “brand is about sharing the good times with the communities and so it was an easy decision to partner with the organization.” In wishing the tournament well, Griffith said they are hoping the tournament will “bring more opportunities for more futsal competitions in Guyana and increase the level of awareness of the sport.”

The four-day festival will kick off on December 27 at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall with six matches that will be played between the hours of 18:00hrs and 00:00hrs with each match being played on the hour culminating with the final match at 23:00hrs.

The teams, which include  Morvant Caledonia United from Trinidad and Tobago, ZV All-Stars from Suriname, and a São Paulo selection from Brazil, will be placed in two groups. The locally participating teams are an East Coast All-Stars, Linden All-Stars, Georgetown All-Stars and West Demerara All-Stars.

The winning team will pocket $1.2 million, while the losing finalist will receive half that amount. Third and fourth-placed finishers will pocket $300,000 and $100,000 respectively.
