CONCACAF CONDUCTS VENUE VISIT

The Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (Concacaf) conducted an inspection of proposed venues for the Concacaf Nations League, scheduled for September 2018 to March 2019.

On Thursday, April 5, Christopher Craig, Concacaf’s Event Manager and Chris Cooke, who is in charge of TV production for the matches, visited the National Track and Field Centre, Leonora and the Guyana National Stadium, Providence respectively.

Guyana will play host to Barbados and Belize in September 2018 and March 2019 respectively in the first and final qualifier while Turks and Caicos Islands and French Guiana will host Guyana in October and November 2018.

The matches will be played in the official FIFA window in September, October and November of 2018-2019 with the championship final scheduled for March 2020. It will feature promotion and relegation among the 34 participating teams and serve as a qualifier for the expanded Concacaf Gold Cup, scheduled for 2019.

The team was accompanied by Ian Alves, Competitions Director and Lakeisha (Shinelle) Pearson, Competitions Clerk
