FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ – CONCACAF QUALIFIERS RESCHEDULED TO MARCH 2021

The first round of the Concacaf Qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ have been rescheduled to March 2021 instead of the previously scheduled FIFA match window of October and November 2020 respectively.

This decision was made jointly today by both Concacaf and FIFA and is due to the public health situation relative to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Many parts of the region continue to have very challenging public health situations, and that has been a key factor in this decision. Additionally, several countries across the confederation have travel restrictions and quarantine requirements, would make international football involving 30 national teams extremely difficult,” read the joint statement.

The parties have committed to finalize a new schedule, which will be released in due course.

Guyana was drawn in Group F along with St. Kitts and Nevis, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago and the Bahamas.
