GFF ELITE LEAGUE SEASON 4: Earlier Matches Scheduled For Sunday; Revised Fixtures Due To Unavailability of East Coast match Venues

The GFF Elite League matches for Sunday, April 14, will now be held at 14:00hrs and 16:00hrs respectively due to the hosting of the Milo School Football finals scheduled for 17:00hrs and 19:00hrs on that day.

The matches are scheduled for the Police Sports Club Ground, Eve Leary and will feature Ann’s Grove FC vs Buxton United FC at 14:00hrs and Police FC vs Victoria Kings at 16:00hrs respectively.

Additionally, due to the unavailability of the Buxton Community Centre Ground, matches scheduled for Saturday, April 20 have now been moved to Thursday, April 18 at the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) Ground beginning at 18:30hrs and 20:30hrs respectively with Ann’s Grove  FC vs Western Tigers FC and Buxton United FC vs Fruta Conquerors FC.

On April 24, a double header will be played at 18:30hrs and 20:30hrs respectively featuring Fruta Conquerors FC vs Ann’s Grove FC and Milerock FC vs Den Amstel  at the GFC Ground while matches scheduled for Saturday, April 27 at Victoria Community Centre Ground have now been moved to Friday, April 26 at GFC Ground with matches scheduled for 18:30hrs and 20:30hrs featuring Buxton United FC vs Western Tigers FC at 18:30hrs and Victoria Kings vs Fruta Conquerors FC at 20:30hrs. (Fixtures 2018, 2019 – 11th April, 2019)

Clubs are competing for a chance to win a grand total of Four Million, Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($4,500,000.00) as follows: First Prize – Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00), Second Prize – One Million, Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($1,200,000.00); Third prize – Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars ($800,000.00) and Fourth prize – Five Hundred Dollars ($500,000.00)

The GFF Elite League is the highest form of competitive football played in Guyana and according to the Rules and Regulations of Season 4, the 10 clubs “will play one (1) round of football, resulting in the club acquiring the most points being declared the winner. Match Days will feature mostly double-headers at stipulated venues on Fridays and Sundays with a few Match Days being scheduled for Saturdays. The overall league Champion Club will be awarded an automatic qualifying spot at the CONCACAF / Caribbean Shield Championships.”

Admission to the GFF Elite League is set at $500.
